You can also turn any Kir'ko units into a xeno via a parasyte mod then they will have 3 lives too. all your Xeno units will effectively have 3 lives. :P and once you have a bunch of plaguelords that can revive eachother and the mod that let's them revive themselves. You have a pretty good chance of getting up to two pustules per battle then use the operation to evolve into devourers and repeat, and then get plaguelord tech. This game may not have reinvented or innovated on the 4X genre much but they definitely went with an 'if it aint broke, dont fix it' approach and improved the parts of the game that kinda sucked from AOW III. You don't really need to bother with Xeno units until you get the ability to evolve a pustule into a devourer via a strategic op, and get the doctrine that increases the spawning of Xeno units after battle by +30% per hero in army.
